About Raw Grief

My name is Andrew Eugene. In October 2023 my wife of 32 years died suddenly. This blog is my attempt to make sense of life. I wrote one post entry per week to make sense of the pain. I’m a Christian, and Jesus is the center point of my life. He’s not an add-on, he’s my only hope. But how does a Christian grief well? How do you make sense of the suddenly quiet house and terrible thoughts of wanting to end the struggle?

God is good, and I am not. But there is a greater mystery to life than can be shared in a phrase or two, no matter how true those phrases may be. This is my honest attempt to make sense of life. I’m not the example, I’m an example, and a selfish broken one at that.

I’ve learned how to wait. I’ve learned the value of the Church. And I’ve learned the importance of listening. God is good, he always has been, even when I was severely disappointed in his decisions.

And I am a blessed man.
